A Visual Fault Locator (VFL) is an essential tool for fiber optic technicians, used to identify breaks, sharp bends, or poor connections in optical fibers by emitting a visible red laser light. Use an appropriate adapter (SC, LC, FC, etc.) to attach the VFL to the fiber’s connector. For bare fibers, use a mandrel or clip to align the fiber with the VFL’s output.
