● Prepare cable for midspan access by exposing the buffer tube as needed.
● Use the sizing channels on the top ofthe tool to determine which slot on the tool to use. Starting with the smallest channel (#5) find the first slot the tube fits easily and fully seats into, then use the corresponding channel for your access.
● Unhook the clasp and open the tool. Use caution to not contact the exposed blade.
● Place the buffer tube into the correct channel as determined in Step 2.
● Close the tool completely until the clasp engages.
● With a slow, even, and steady force, glide the tool along the tube in a smooth motion. The tool will slit the tube as shown in top feature photo.
● When you reach the end of the access point, cut off the scrap portion of tube before opening or removing the tool.
● Carefully open the tool and remove the buffer.
● After each use, carefully and thoroughly clean the tool and store it to protect from dirt.
Blade Replacement:
● Note: Use caution when handling blades and dispose of used blades properly.
● Carefully observe blade placement as shown in Figure 5. The front blade corners rest against the molded step in the tool body.
● Use #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws in the blade cover.
● Remove old blade. Install new blade and locate it as shown in below.
