Description:
Advantage: Each protection module protects one pair at a time.
Single Pair Protector 2814SP is intended for use in a protected entrance terminal with a Quick Connect System (QCS) 2814-A or 2814-B. Each module protects one pair of telecommunication wires from voltage spikes.2814SPG is for indoor or outdoor terminals,2814SPD is for indoor terminals only.The protectors shall be coordinated with NO. 26 AWG or physically smaller fuse link wire.
Plug the protector into the 3M QCS blocks 2814-A or 2814-B. The protection module orange cap should be facing out, the grounding element on the protection module should be facing up, and the 3M on the orange cap should be oriented right side up. Ensure that the protector is fully inserted into the protector interface on the 3M QCS 2814 block. Each protection module protects one pair at a time.
To remove a protector, grab the top and bottom of the protection module with thumb and forefinger or using the 3M Single Pair Test Probe 2827 and pull firmly.
Jumping wire running
1. Open the feeder pair jumper cap on the protector module by pushing up on the latch and rotating up. Insert jumper wire ends A (tip) left and B (ring) right into wire openings in cap, making sure they are inserted all the way to the back of the cap.
2.While holding the jumper wires in place, close the cap and press to snap latch firmly into place
3. Route jumper wires to distribution pair through wire loops on block ends and through vertical and horizontal wireways. Cut jumper wires to appropriate length, leaving at least 5 cm (2 inches) of slack.
4. To remove jumper wires, open the cap and pull the wires straight out from block.
